These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

So, my mom's having me read this weird book called Prep that I just started reading tonight. Well, I read approximately 1/2 of a page and I already love it. Why?

The students' announcements were lengthy - the longer roll call was, the shorter first period would be - and filled with double entendres: "Boys' soccer is practicing on Coates Field today, which, if you don't know where it is, is behind the headmaster's house, and if you still don't know where it is, ask Fred. Where are you, Fred? You wanna raise your hand, man? There's Fred, everyone see Fred? Okay, so Coates Field. And remember - bring your balls."

I can tell this is going to be a great book. So finals are starting this week, and basically, I'm screwed. Seriously. Even worse, two of my hardest classes, Geometry and English, are on my birthday. Yay me. *sarcasm hand raised*

Well I'm feeling a little under the weather today, and I watched The Sound of Music over the weekend, so..........

Gabrielle's Klutziest Moments of the Schoolyear

You know what really bugs me? When people think they're better than someone else. No one is better than anyone. It doesn't matter your race, or religion, or beliefs, or what you do, or where you live....
We're all equal.
There's no reason to think you're superior to anyone else. Memento mori.

Sorry about that little rant there. I'm kinda cranky.
But to make up for it, I shall now name the top 5 things that Gabrielle has done to earn her a rep as a klutz.

5. I was in one of my school rooms and had to hurry so I could leave. I ran over to copy something really fast, and in my haste, I ended up running straight into a table and went sprawling across the floor. Of course, everyone happened to notice.

4. I was in the same room, but this time I wasn't even running. I was walking to the back of the room, and suddenly tripped over a teacher's laptop cord, which was, of course, connected to his laptop. Luckily, he ended up catching it before it smashed against the floor.

3. The same room AGAIN. (What is it about this room?) I was in Acting 1, and acting out a pantomime. Well, my pantomime involved me miming getting a tooth removed by having dynamite being lit in my mouth and being blown off a 3 1/2 foot table. I had practiced it several times successfully, but of course when I was ACTUALLY performing, I ended up landing on my knee, putting me in a knee brace for a couple weeks. For your information, I still get teased because of it.

2. I was in the lunchroom eating with my friends when they started teasing me by.....
Er, nevermind. But anyway, I ran out of the cafeteria claiming I needed a drink. In my hurry, I tripped UP the stairs, and landed on the corner of a step with both my knees. This was a couple weeks ago, and I still have bruises. Granted not all that many people saw.... Excluding the people around the steps. ...And my friends who were all watching me.

And now, for the moment y'all've (double apostrophes for the win!) been waiting for......

NUMBER ONE:
So lunchroom again. It's the end of lunch and most of the cafeteria has cleared out, excluding my friend and the still slightly full table right in front of mine. Since I'm feeling kinda happy, I decide to try to jump over the jumble of chairs clustered between my table and the one behind mine. Bad move. My foot catches on one of the chairs, and I face-plant on the table next to me. And of course my friend bursts out laughing. >.<

Well, how's that for a blog post? XD

I'M BAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!

Yes, yes, I know it's been several months. Well, I'm back. Hopefully for quite awhile. Now don't put too much faith in me. With all I have going on, I MIGHT end up taking a hiatus from blogging again. But I promise to try my best to keep up when I can. Now, I don't have any time for a real post tonight; just enough for a brief message to say that I'd be back. And there it is. XD

SKILLET CONCERT!

*ahem*

Good news.

I WENT TO A SKILLET CONCERT!

And woke up the next morning with a headache and sore throat.
Oh well. That's the price of awesomeness.

But even better than the concert itself,
I GOT TO MEET SKILLET!!!!!!!
*screams like a fan girl*

John is soooooooo hot in person.

Here's the pic my sister and I took with them:

BEN SAID HE LIKED MY SCARF!
*dies of happiness*

Oh, and before I forget...
Jasmine, John said to tell you hi.

*waits for explosion*

I also got their latest album signed personally, and I'll put a pic up as soon as I figure out how.

The concert itself was amazing and they perform epically live.

I was lucky enough to have seats on the side and didn't have to worry about the dreaded mosh pit.

Thank goodness.

SOMEBODY CALL IX I I!

Sorry, I know it's been a while.

Well, good news!
My post finally came out at 11:20 P.M.!
And it has over 100 comments!
My other one is supposed to come out today and I'll put the link up next time I post.

My 8th grade graduation was yesterday and I got lots of money to spend at B&N!

I finished the Hunger Games!
But then I had a dream that all us Sparklers were forced into the Hunger Games.
I won, by the way. (I promise I didn't kill anybody!)

*yawn*
So tired today after that party.

I watched my 22 year old sister's copy of Hercules like 5 times this weekend.
SOMEBODY CALL IX I I!
I love that quote. :-)

I GOT MY FIRST LOGAN LERMAN POSTER!
And it is awesomesauce.

I had something else I was gonna say, but I completely forgot.

OH YEAH!
Sky and Kevin, if you guys are reading this (which you hopefully are), I want you to kiss.

It was Mika's birthday the other day, so happy belated birthday!

It was Logan's birthday a couple months ago, so also happy belated birthday!

And it will be Logan's birthday in a few months, so happy early birthday!

Sorry, I'm kinda sad today.

My post that was supposed to be published on Sparknotes, never showed up.

I got to talk to Kyle today!
But no e-date.

"The Hunger Games" finally came in at the library.

Tomorrow is not only my last day of school, but my last day of being homeschooled.

So it turns out that my character in Mika's story is going to have a happy ending after all!

Only 5 more days until my other Sparknotes article is published.
Hopefully.

Mika's Awesomesauce Fanfiction Story

No time for a blog post today.
Thankfully, Mika gave me a character in her awesomefull fanfiction story. (I'm Gabrielle)
Here it is!

It felt good to be back at home.
The way I felt when I walked through the grounds of camp was hard to explain. It felt saddening this year, my last year as a camper. I walked around, talking to the newer campers and helping with the horses and the canoeing. Mostly what I’m good at. I also help in the sword ring, being the second best swordsman in the whole camp. I walked slowly towards the Fighting Arena and watched the campers interact. I’d been gone for 9 months, and decided to come back for my last summer. I heard yelling coming from the arena and sped up. “Get him!” someone screamed in a playful tone.

I walked in and saw a girl with long red hair in the middle of the arena, whipping around in circles, holding two cutlasses. She was tall, with long slender legs and a small, thin stomach, which was revealed by her belly shirt. She was smiling and kept saying “C’mon, Connor,” in a sweet tone. “Just give up!” Connor Stoll was panting across from her, trying to hold her off. I watched as the girl sliced through the air with amazing skill and grace. Connor managed to knock the cutlass from her left hand, baring her to just one cutlass. She smiled happily as she swung at him repeatedly. I finally figured what this girl was doing; she was cornering her prey, and leaving no opening.

I watched as Connor’s back hit the wall, and the flash of fear in his eyes. Hades, I’d be afraid, too. This girl was lethal. He dropped his weapon and the girl let out a triumphant cry of victory. “You win, again,” Connor moaned miserably as he was walking back to the crowd. There was a fury of claps as the red-head took a bow and picked up her cutlass. “Right, then, Connor,” she said, turning to face the crowd of demigods, roaring with her praises. “Jog on, love. Next, anyone?” I don’t know what propelled me to step forward, maybe it was the smug look in her eye, or just that I was bored. “I’ll go, if you don’t mind?”

Her face suddenly became confused, and she spun her two weapons around her hands, sliding them back into her holders. “I don’t know you, do I? Are you, like, new? Or old and just haven’t been ‘round?” I smiled and pulled out Riptide, my pen-sword, from my back pocket. “I’ve just been finishing up my last year at Goode High School, in the city,” She nodded and I continued. “My name’s Percy, son of Poseidon, god of the Sea. Yours?” She smiled and stuck out her hand, letting me shake it. “The name’s Andy Johnson, daughter of Zeus, god of the Sky.” I laughed and looked in her electric blue eyes, watching the flashes of gray in them. “Isn’t Andy a boy name?”

She squeezed my hand and glared. “Isn’t Percy a gay name? Don’t pick on my nickname!” She turned around and headed towards the other side of the Arena, her long hair flowing effortlessly behind her. “Well, what’s your real name?” She didn’t stop walking, until she reached the other side of the field. “Andromeda-and yours?” I heard a laugh from the crowd and watched as my ex-girlfriend, Annabeth (long story, let’s just say she likes guys from Olympus better than me), walked from the huddle of people. “His name’s Perseus!” She giggled. I was confused, how was my name funny? “Omigawds, really? That’s never happened to me before!” I sighed and looked from Andromeda to Annabeth, waiting for them to explain. “What’s so funny about my name being Perseus?”

“My name is Andromeda, and I was named after the most beautiful mortal princess ever, like, she one-upped Helen of Troy. And she was chained to a rock because she was so pretty and everyone called her the prettiest girl ever – even prettier than Poseidon’s Nereid-chicks,” Andy started. “So, she was left dangling from a rock, so that the Kracken, or whatever could eat her. But, while the beast was preparing to eat her, Perseus showed up and killed it with the head of the Gorgon, Medusa. They then got married.” She giggled and whispered something to Annabeth, making them both burst into a fit of giggles.

I shrugged and uncapped Riptide, ready to get on with the fight that I’d been promised. Annabeth backed up and Andy took out her cutlasses, spinning them at full speed. “Bring it, lover boy,” she said. I ran at her, trying to confuse her, but she just side-stepped and whacked me on the back, making me fall to my knees. “Aw, you’d bow for the daughter of Zeus? How sweet!” she laughed and swung her two blades, ready to slice me. I tumbled out of the way, nearly smacking into her right cutlass.

I slapped her wrist, making her drop her weapons, and grab her wrists in pain. She turned and started to run off. I laughed, and the moment I did she froze and put her hand on the bun in her hair. She pulled the stick that was holding it, letting the curls tumble down. I then noticed that it wasn’t a stick she was carrying, but a knife. She turned and threw the blade, and I watched as it whizzed across the arena towards me. It landed in the wall next to my hip.

She slowly walked over with a sultry grin on her face. I swallowed hard, begging my teenage hormones to behave themselves. She pressed up against me, clutching her knife, “I remain undefeated,” she muttered in a husky whisper. “See ya at the Capture the Flag game.” She turned and walked off, leaving me in a twist of fear and wanting.

☼ ☼ ☼

The sounds of demigods running through the woods kept me alert for Andy. She was captaining the opposing team and I was nervous. Before we started, she gave me a quick warning. I thought about the way she stared me down as she said, “Watch every corner, watch every moment, I give no mercy, lover boy.” I sighed and turned to find myself face-to-face with the she-devil herself, sporting a triumphant grin. “Oh, gods, did I just walk into a-” She cut me off by pressing her lips to mine, pushing me back into the tree and wrapping her arms around me.

My first reaction was shock. Pure shock. I’d just met Andy, and now we were making-out in the middle of the woods, while everyone could clearly see us. I started to kiss back, ignoring the murmurs of the nymphs, satyrs and demigods around us. Suddenly, she pulled back, and when I tried to grab her and pull her back to me for another kiss, my hands were bound together with ropes that led to her hand. I was being taken prisoner. Laughter ran out through the woods as they saw the trap I fell into. “Epic, Andy!” someone shouted as Andy took a low bow. “Thank you, thank you, I’ll be here all week!”

She pulled me along, taking me to the edge of the woods and to the area where her team was celebrating with... our flag. “Oh, c’mon!” I groaned as she took me to the center of the group. I looked around for a person willing to help me, but no one came forward. Annabeth was just laughing with her friends. I looked down in shame as Andy circled me. A small girl stepped out of the crowd with an angry look on her face. “Hey!” she snapped, making Andy stop and give her a glare that could melt the skin off anyone. “And, who are you?” She said, stepping towards the girl, sizing her up. “Gabrielle Harrison, daughter of the Sun god, Apollo.” They stared each other down, and I could feel the I-am-better-than-you waves flowing through the air.

Gabrielle pulled out a sword and pointed it at Andy. “Let him go, Andromeda.” Andy laughed and touched my face, stroking my cheek. “Nah, I’ll keep him to myself.” Gabrielle charged with a scream and struck weapons with Andy. I watched in horror as they fought over me, making me have a bit of self-worth. Gabrielle fell to the ground and groaned, ready to get up and take on Andy, but Andy kicked her stomach, making her double over in pain.

Suddenly, a girl about 5 feet tall with short blond hair and sharp hassle eyes, wearing a black-smith style outfit and a aviator-style hat broke out of the crowd. She was a camp councilor who had given up collage to be at camp. I recognized her as Fiyera, the daughter of Hephaestus. She was an amazing armorer at Camp Half-Blood who made nearly every sword in camp. “Break it up, ladies!” She snapped, pulling back Gabrielle and Andy. "I’ll take her! She’ll wish her little butt never told Andromeda Echo Johnson-Skylark what to do!” Andy screamed, kicking as Fiyera dragged her off.

Even More Randomness

Hello again, friends.

This blog post, I have not the slightest clue what to say.

Uh. . . . . . . . .

*cough*

This is kinda awkward.

Well, only 4 more days till my first post comes out! I'll make sure to post the link.
The second one will be out the Monday after that.

I only have four more days of school, so yay me!
*claps hands like London Tipton*

Yes, I used to watch "The Suite Life of Zach and Cody".

I finished the first Percy Jackson book.
And then, I saw the first movie.
While watching it, two things crossed my mind.

1. Logan Lerman is a pretty bad actor.
2. He is also one of the hottest things to walk the face of the planet.

#2 trumps #1 any day.

Apparently the top baby names for 2009 were Isabella and Jacob.
Coincidence? I think not.

May 6th marked the one year anniversary of Dan's first Blogging Twilight post.
My favorite Dan quote:

Hey Isabelly,

I wrote this rap for you:

More Randomness

Sorry for the lack of posts lately.
Anyway, I don't have a planned topic yet again so I'll just write whatever comes to mind.
But first things first.

7 favorite books:
1. Uglies
2. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief
3. Deadly Little Secret
4. Pretties
5. Deadly Little Lies
6. The Silver Chair
7. Specials

I will not continue on the chain.

Anyway, I've finished all my subjects for school except Math, Composition, and Science.

Happy belated Birthday to my dad, whose age I am also not allowed to tell you.

The guy who sings on Dancing With The Stars has one of the worst singing voices I've ever heard. You don't believe me? Listen to him singing For Your Entertainment and Hey Soul Sister from a couple weeks ago.

Congrats to Hanini and Retsam on their e-engagement.
Unless they've already e-loped by now. :-)
Thanks for letting me be the flower girl Hanini!
My dress.
Imagine it in pale pink and you have my dress.

I started reading the Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series and have about 10 pages to go in the first book.
Epicness.
And as far as fictional boyfriends go, Percy can be mine.
Especially if he looks like Logan Lerman. :-D

I learned how to tie ties the other day.
I feel so accomplished.

Cinco de Mayo is tomorrow and to celebrate, I'm doing. . . .
absolutely nothing.

Only 8 more days till my first sparknotes post is published!
In celebration of this great occasion, I will award myself by listening to Adam Lambert on repeat.
Wait, I do that every day.
Oh, well. :-)

And I'm all out of random things to say.

Randomness

Argh.
I STILL don't have time or concentration for a regular blog post so this one will be short.

So, I'd just like to say that my percentages are high enough to not have to go to school for the rest year. :-)

My parents, on the other hand, have other ideas.

GRRRR!

Today was a Melli/Gabbi night, which is where my sister and I hang out every Wednesday evening. We spent practically the whole time playing New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
If anyone has tips for getting through World 9, let me know.

Happy Birthday to my Aunt, whose age I am not allowed to tell you.

My condolences go out to Wakwy and Skandar.
Skandar, I hope you feel better!

Random, but I love Lady GaGa's new song, "Alejandro".

And lastly, thanks Kyle for inviting me to an e-banquet!
My dress.
Only we were thinking Midnight Blue for the color.
Thanks Mika for helping me choose a dress. :-)

My Life Is Average

I confess, I didn't have enough time or concentration to write a blog post today.
Instead, quotes from http://mylifeisaverage.com/.
Enjoy.

Today, my friend told me he found out there's a furniture store named "Sofa King Furniture Store". Guess what their motto is? "Where the prices are SOFA KING low!" MLIA.

AHAHAHAHA! Best slogan I have EVER seen!

It's amazing what kids know nowadays. Just now, while reading MLIA stories, I heard the tv. My brother was watching Codename Kids, and for some reason one of the kids said, "It's too hard. It wont fit through the whole! It's the wrong shape!" To my amazement, my brother, sick, said with a straight face, "That's what she said." My brother is four and a half years old.

I blame Hanini for the corruption of our youths.

Today, I was sitting at school reading MLIAs about the Google vs. Yahoo war. I decided to find out what "school is..." in this battle. According to yahoo, school is open. According to google, school is the fiery depths of hell used to frighten the small children into oblivion. I believe we have our winner. MLIA.

Google never lies. . .

Today i was in media communications class talking before the lesson started, when the teacher walked in he couldn't get our attention so he decided to try and do a cartwheel over a chair to get us to notice him. he did it, stumbled and fell into the door, through the door; and into the hall, landing on his face. It got our attention. MLIA

Would certainly get my attention.

Today I was walking into my kitchen to throw my pudding cup away. I opened up my silverwear drawer and put it inside...I don't know why. MLIA

Once, I put a box of uncooked spaghetti underneath the kitchen sink. After about two weeks of searching, we finally found them. Later my mom had me clean up the kitchen and I put the spaghetti back underneath the sink. Fail.

My roomates lit the couch on fire in our dormroom. When they realized they couldn't put it out they tossed the couch - on fire - out the second story window. The dean actually thanked them for their quick thinking avoiding the entire dorm catching on fire.

Sounds like great roommates . . . . .
And a great dean.

Today I was filling out College Applications. I was asked to list all the languages I speak. I said English, British, Canadian, and Australian. MLIA

I can speak all of those!

The other day my boyfriend and I were watching the movie Grease. While Danny and Sandy were singing Summer Lovin', he suddenly says "Wow...Danny and John Travolta look a lot alike!" MLIA

OMG they do!

I was looking at Gifts.com and came across a clock that runs away from you (on wheels) before you can turn it off so you have to get out of bed. I think this may be the smartest invention of all time. MLIA

I definitely need one. . . .

Today, my boyfriend gave me an early Valentine card. It was folded up on a peice of paper. When I opened it, all I saw was a math equation and the words, solve it. The equation was 2i<3 x 2u. I solved it and got i<3u. He's such a nerd. MLIA

AWWWWWW!

Today, I tried to pull a prank on my friend Libby. I told her she had Updock in her hair, expecting her to say "What's updock?" like Bugz Bunny. Instead, she kept saying "what's that?" until she evntually yelled "WHAT THE F*CK IS UPDOCK??". The room went silent, then one of my friends said "Whoa, Bugz Bunny got angry..." MLIA.

LMBO!

Today I was working at McDonalds and happened to walk passed the drive-thru window; five 18/19 y.o. boys had 'pulled up' in perfect formation of a car - 2 in the front, 3 in the back - but were not actually in a car. As the 'car' pulled up, I watched as the 'driver' put his 'handbrake' on, manually wind down the 'window' and begin his order. The guy who was at the window, and is extremely strict, told the boys he would not serve them because they were not in a car. The 'driver' then proceeded to wind up the window, change into reverse gear and reverse out of the drive-thru. The guy in the 'middle seat' even ducked so the driver could see behind him. The guys kept straight faces the entire escapade. I would have served them purely for their unforgettable entertainment, so thank you mystery boys, for making my day. :D MLIA

I SO wanna try that now!

Today in science, we were talking about forensics. I was curious about the developed technology and asked if there was a way to kill someone without leaving any traces of DNA. The entire class fell silent. I'm 4'11" and pretty much the tiniest person in my grade. Yet, by the end of the day, every one was pretty sure I was a serial murderer and was scared of me. MLIA

It’s always the short ones that are the most deadly. . .

Today I found out that when I was three years old I punched another kid in the face. My mom happened to be watching along with his mom. My mom started apologizing to the kid's mom and the woman said "Oh please. There happens to be a strong confident women here. I'm sure my boy was totally asking for it. She will go places." Thanks. And yes he did. He stole my stuffed Squirtle. MLIA.

What an awesome mom.

Today I was talking to my therapist about how I wanted to possibly start talking to a different one, she told me she would give me the number to her therapist. MLIA

What if the therapist’s therapist has a therapist?

Today, while waiting for my dad to have an epic WII Tennis battle, I decided to try playing with both remotes. After successfully completing two rounds I screamed, "This is Awesome! I'm playing with myself!" to my entire house. Nobody wanted to play after that. MLIA

THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID!

Again, I apologize for the lack of real blog today.

The Awesomeness That Is Skillet

Happy Earth Day wonderful blog readers!
Even better than Earth Day,
IT'S MY 14 AND 1/4th BIRTHDAY!
kidding.
well not about the fact that it's my 14th and 1/4th birthday. . . . .
whatever.
Anyway, another good thing about today is that the awkward first post is over with! I can now move on to the awkward second post!
Ok, so a lot of you know (I hope) that I'm going to see Skillet in concert soon!
And even though it's a long ways away, I am dedicating today's post to them. Hopefully there'll be some more pan heads after this.
So Skillet is basically this really awesome Christian rock band that I've been listening to the past couple months. The band consists of the lead singer and bass player, John Cooper <3, his wife, Korey, who is a backup vocalist and plays the keyboard; rhythm guitar; and synthesizer, the lead guitarist, Ben Kasica, and the drummer and backup vocalist, Jen Ledger.
Their latest album was released in August of last year, and they are currently on tour to promote it.
This is their first single, "Hero"

And their second single "Monster"

And their final single from the album, "Awake and Alive"

And the track listing for Awake
1. "Hero"
2. “Monster”
3. “Awake and Alive”
4. “Forgiven”
5. “It’s Not Me, It’s You”
6. “One Day Too Late”
7. “Lucy”
8. “Never Surrender”
9. “Don’t Wake Me”
10. “Sometimes”

And finally, a shoutout to all my fellow pan-heads.

Welcome to the World of Edgey!

Alright.
I gave in.
I've finally created my own blog.
I haven't really gotten the hang of this yet, so I'll just post a story of what happened last night at my grandma's birthday party last night.
So it was my grandma's birthday yesterday, and she's Mexican, so she wanted to go out to eat at a Mexican restaurant.
We get there and I helped my cousin with her math homework.
So then, everyone ordered (I got a beef taco and beans. Yum!)
Halfway through with my food, my sister whispers to me that somehow I need to tell them that it's my grandma's birthday. So I ask my cousin if she'll come with me to go "to the bathroom".
I started heading towards the front of the store, until my cousin stopped me.
"Uh, the bathrooms are this way," and she points in the opposite direction.
This was going to be harder than I thought.
We went to the bathrooms and created a plan. So I went and asked my grandpa for the car keys so my cousin and I could "grab something from the car".
We headed out to the car and I grabbed the only thing I could think of.
A jolly rancher.
This is where it gets complicated.
My cousin and I walked back into the restaurant, but we had to sneak underneath the windows so my family couldn't see us. We went up to the front desk and I tell them that it's my grandma's birthday and I go into detail describing what she looks like. After I finally finish, the lady says,
"Sorry, I don't know who she is and I can't help you."
*facepalm*
She starts telling us about how we'll have to talk to the waiter, and she can't go get him because she doesn't know who it is, blah blah blah.
Thanks for your help.
Thankfully, our waiter comes by just then, and we tell him how it's my grandma's birthday. He says ok. Thank Goodness.
So to keep our cover, we had to crawl back underneath the windows and then walk back in front of them.
We go back to the table, only to hear that my grandma doesn't wanting them know it's her birthday.
Oops.
About 10 minutes later, we hear all the employees cheering and they walk over with a huge sombrero and ice cream. They start singing happy birthday to her and my grandma turns beet red. The waiter then attempts to feed her a bite of ice cream and it slips off the spoon and falls onto her shirt!
What a good waiter.
And I think my uncle was drunk because every time the waiter said something, he responded with,
"tu mama".
That means "your mom" in English.
I'm guessing it wasn't one of her best birthdays.
Well that's my first blog post.
And I'll also be posting my poem of the day and my song of the day.
